Sealing cloth, plaster, jesmonite, soot, metal.
In the sculpture “Håkjerringa”, which means Greenland Shark, a huge reconstruction of a fossilized shark teeth hang from the ceiling in sealing cloth. The greenland shark is one of the largest sharks in the Nordic region and can live up to 500 years. Like a living sarcophagus of time, it moves in the deep sea. The work is also a reminder that sharks have existed on Earth for some 450 million years, but that many species are now threatened by fishing, environmental toxins and climate change.
